80% Grenache, 20% Syrah
The best rated wine in a box EVER!
“Nicely rendered, with a focused core of cassis and bitter cherry fruit, lined with subtle bergamot, garrigue and red tea notes. Reveals a dusting of sandalwood on the finish. Best from 2021 through 2028. 4,900 cases made, 850 cases imported.” –

“An 80-20 Grenache-Syrah blend, the 2017 Gigondas boasts blackberry and mulberry fruit. It’s dark and intense but already approachable, being full-bodied, supple and graced with soft, gentle tannins. Crisp acids on the finish make a pleasant counterpoint without being jarring, serving to bring focus and length. Tasted twice, with consistent notes.” –

“Based on 80/20 Grenache and Syrah brought up mostly in older barrels, the 2017 Gigondas Cuvée 1806 offers a classic nose of bouquet garni, nori (sushi wrapper), ground pepper, and ripe black fruits. With medium to full body, great elegance, sweet tannins, and a great finish, it’s another no-brainer purchase for this cuvée.” –

Domaine du Grapillon d’Or
Created in 1806, the property has remained in the hands of the Chauvet family. Since 1970, the estate has been successfully managed by Bernard CHAUVET, joined 30 years ago by his daughter, Céline CHAUVET, who takes care of the winemaking and management of the estate.
Nestled at the foot of the famous Dentelles de Montmirail, their 15 hectares Gigondas vineyard is mainly located on the hillsides. All their wines are “Vegan” and come from a selection of small plots which give rise to wines of great concentration and suitable for aging.
